WOBB | The Awesome Career Fair #3 [Employers]


In June 2016, WOBB launched their first ever Awesome Career Fair, which gave 100 Gen Y jobseekers a head start with HR representatives from 10 great companies in Malaysia. In November 2016, WOBB hosted Round 2 at twice the size: 20 great companies and 200 talented jobseekers.

Last time, we had Shell, Digi, Maxis, PayPal, KFIT, Taylor's Education, Piktochart, OpenMinds, and more.

“The candidates were very enthusiastic and energetic over the interviews. What was most beneficial was being able to hear how candidates tell their stories in their own way. This would not be heard in the case of normal CV submissions. We only got to meet 100 selected candidates but wished there were more!” said HR representative of Digi Telecommunications, Roshini A/P Vellu.

“We like The Awesome Career Fair very much. I can see the enjoyment, and people don't feel stressed. This is the first time we joined this sort of recruitment event, and I was overwhelmed by the amount of people who were actually interested in knowing what we have to offer,” said Ramyah Arasu of Shell Business Operations.

What is The Awesome Career Fair?
It's a career fair but with a twist. We invite employers and jobseekers to meet in a more relaxed environment - bars.

Have you done this before?
Yes, our first round for in June 2016, we only invited 10 employers and 100 jobseekers that that. It was so successful that in November 2016 we doubled the attendees - 20 jobseekers and 200 jobseekers.

What am I paying for?
The different tiers determine your location at the fair, but all tiers include unlimited drinks and snacks for 2 people from your company. You will also receive all the CVs of the event attendees, who went through a shortlisting process in order to be invited to this event.

What's the difference between the different tiers?
Basically it's about how prime the location is in the venue. They're all good and will get traffic, because the venue is just the right size. But, some stations will be more prominent than others. Gold is in the left and most spacious side of the venue, Silver is in the middle and Bronze is on the right side a slight corner.

Is the price quoted for 1 person or 1 team?
The price quoted is for 1 team of 2 company representatives. Every additional team member exceeding a total of 2 pax is RM150 a head.

What industry are the jobseekers from?
They are from all professional industries. But, you can expect majority to be from Accounting, Sales, Marketing, Finance, HR, and Tech backgrounds.

What do you mean you're filtering the applicants?
We want to ensure that you will receive the best of the best. Jobseekers will be screened based on quality of their CV. This event is invite-only and private.
